Pack a Thanksgiving Punch
Still looking for the right drink to serve this Thanskgiving? You can't go wrong with punch. It's a family favorite for a reason, and I've got two recipes (one for kids and one for adults) that are sure to please this Turkey Day.
Non-Alcoholic Thanksgiving Cranberry Punch
2 Bottles of chilled cranberry juice
2 Containers of lemonade or orange juice concentrate
1 Bottle of chilled Sprite, Ginger Ale or seltzer water
Combine all of the ingredients immediately prior to serving. As your concentrate melts, it'll simply add to the already tart flavor. If you're looking for an extra flavor boost, you might consider a cranberry juice blend. Some great flavor combinations are: cranberry apple, cranberry blueberry and cranberry grape. As for the fizzy stuff, I tend to use a flavored seltzer water in favor of sugary soda. Seltzer water has double the fizziness factor and none of the sugar--they'll be getting plenty of that at dessert anyway!
Cranberry Pomegranate Thanksgiving Punch
2 bottles of cranberry pomegranate juice
1 container of orange juice concentrate
1 bottle of flavored seltzer water
Vodka, Grain Alcohol or Rum to taste
Garnish: slices of fresh fruit oranges, lemons and limes
You'll notice that I didn't specify a measurement when it comes to how much alcohol to add to your Thanksgiving punch. In my experience, the best way to proceed when making a large quantity of an alcoholic beverage is to taste as you stir in small amounts. That way, you can avoid knocking everyone out after the first sip!
Whether you serve one or both of these punch recipes this Thanksgiving, your guests will definitely be happy to sip tart cranberry combination as they wait for the Turkey Day feast. Just be sure to remember which punch to give the kids! À votre santé!
Enjoy Planning.
