Western-themed Baby Shower
I secretly love when my friends find out the gender of their new baby because it makes finding a theme for the baby shower a whole lot easier! One of my friends is having a boy and she's a transplant from Texas so even though she's been living in Boston for several years we figured a Western/Rodeo theme would be perfect for her. Here are some ideas from her shower:
Using thin rope, make tiny “lassos” to use as napkin holders. Too cute!
For wall decorations use a few pieces of cardboard and make some large cacti. Also, if at all possible, pick up a few bales of hay to display sporadically around the yard.
For centerpieces use real cactus plants and tie a bright blue ribbon around the terra cotta planter.
At your local party store pick up plastic cowboy hats (preferably in blue) and decorate them with blue plastic rhinestones. You can also decorate a sheriff's badge for mom-to-be.
Serve a BBQ buffet fit for a western rodeo. This includes Texas-style chili, hot dogs, baked sweet potatoes, cucumber salad, corn on the cob, and of course sweet tea.
For dessert, this adorable cowboy cake would be a great finishing touch!
