By the Sea: Ocean-themed Bridal Shower
I love helping friends plan bridal showers! With each bride-to-be there are a plethora of creative options to showcase her interests. One shower I recently helped plan was for a friend who loves the ocean. She used to spend summers down by the shore with her family and her wedding is going to be right on the beach this summer.
Here are some ideas for an ocean-inspired bridal shower:
- Table cloths and napkins in a beautiful nautical blue with the napkins tied with a thin white rope
- Beautiful centerpieces made with clear vases filled with seashells and candles
- Decorate the bride's chair with flowers and seagrass typically found near the ocean
- Instead of the usual fare of mini quiches and scallops wrapped in bacon, have a traditional clam bake. Lobsters, clam chowder, and corn on the cob.
- Use the sounds and scents of the sea to enhance the ocean experience. Strategically place a few ocean-scented candles and play a CD of relaxing surf sounds as light background music.
