Backyard Campout Under the Stars
Who says you have to be a kid to have a backyard campout? Invite over your friends and family and pitch some tents in the backyard for a fun, memorable experience. Just don’t forget the bug spray!
Have guests arrive in the afternoon to set up their tents (before it gets dark). Make sure they pitch their tents on level, grassy surfaces. You may want to also suggest to them to bring air mattresses if they want to be more comfortable.
Games like horseshoes and volleyball are fun activities for guests to play during the afternoon. If you have a swimming pool, be sure to let guests know that they should bring their bathing suits.
For dinner, cook hotdogs and hamburgers over the fire or a grill. For sides, serve potato salad, corn on the cob, and pasta salad. Roasted marshmallows and s’mores are the perfect treat for dessert.
Once it starts getting dark, be sure that you have plenty of flashlights for people to use. Tiki torches are also a decorative way to light up your backyard. Once everyone is relaxing around the fire, have guests tell their favorite ghost story or sing karaoke.
