80's Theme Party for the Ages
The 1980s may have been tough to live through but now that we're long past those years, it's easy to appreciate the past. And what better way to pay tribute to the 80s than with a righteous 80s theme party!
Theme parties are terrific for birthday parties, bachelorette parties, Halloween parties, and even if you don't have a specific reason for the party other than to get friends together for some fun.
First thing's first. You need to dress the part. Scour second hand shops or vintage shops (or dare I say, your closet?) for neon leggings, acid wash jeans, shoulder shirts, big earrings, colorful bangles, and scrunchies. If you can crimp your hair in a side pony tail, you get extra points!
As for snacks, I've always loved cupcakes for parties. They're easy to grab and go, no messy knives around, and they display really well. Use neon colored frosting (if you can't find it, you can always use food coloring to achieve the right level of neon).
Music is likely to be the easiest and most fun part of your 80s party planning. Michael Jackson, New Kids on the Block, Madonna, U2, the Police, hair bands, and the list goes on and on.
The right music will lead to mingling and hopefully some fun dancing! Any party that gets the guests moving around and interacting is usually a big success.
Enjoy Planning.
