St. Patrick's Day Food: Green Pizza!
Not crazy about Irish food, but still want to serve up something in keeping with the St. Patrick's Day theme at your party this year? I've got you covered with my yummy green pizza recipe!
This pizza includes green pesto sauce, mozzarella cheese, green peppers, onions and spinach. It's a sure thing!
To make the pesto sauce, you'll need:
- 2 cups basil leaves
- 1/2 cup Olive Oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 tablespoons pine nuts
- 2 garlic cloves
In a food processor, combine your basil leaves, pine nuts and garlic cloves and blend until smooth. Remove the mixture from your food processor and, in a medium sized bowl, combine with your olive oil and parmesan cheese.
Smooth your pesto mix over a bake-at-home pizza crust (which can be found at any grocery store), then sprinkle mozzarella liberally over the top.
Arrange one layer of spinach leaves on top of your cheese, and then place sliced green pepper an onions on top of that.
Bake at about 450 degrees (or less, depending on the instructions for your pizza crust) for between 10 and 15 minutes, allow your pizza to cool for about 10 minutes, and then serve.
The result? A green pizza that's perfect for St. Patrick's Day and completely delicious. Bon appétit!
Enjoy Planning.
