Green Party Tip of the Week
My inbox has been flooded lately with questions about how to host a great party while keeping the environmental impact to a minimum. I'm so proud of your commitment to the environment that I've decided to start sharing weekly tips for hosting green parties. You'd be amazed at how many small things you can do to reduce your environmental footprint.
One of my favorite things to do to reduce waste at my parties is use glassware instead of plastic cups. Plastic cups can really build up at parties because people put them down, forget which cup is theirs, and grab another one. If everyone goes through at least two plastic cups, that's a lot of unnecessary trash.
Instead of plastic, buy inexpensive glasses that fit your occasion. Maybe it's margarita glasses, beer mugs, or wine glasses for adult parties, or juice glasses or mugs for a kids party. Then decorate the glasses with the name of each guest so not only will your guests know which glass is theirs, but they'll go home with a fun party favor.
