Free Invitations: Baby Shower
Dear Penelope,
I'm planning a baby shower for next month, and I wanted some new ideas. Do you have any advice?

Now, I’m not sure if this baby shower is for you or a friend, but it doesn’t much matter. I’ve got plenty of great ideas to help plan any kind of baby shower. First, I suggest checking out MyPunchbowl for some tasteful, fun and free online invitations to get your party planning started. Here’s a sample baby shower invitation template that would work perfectly:

Let’s face it. Life changes after a baby. Life does a complete 180˚ after a baby. So why not let the mother-to-be be the focus of your baby shower? Since, soon, her life will be dictated by the needs of her infant, I think the right idea for this baby shower is to put the focus on the mother rather than the baby.
Invite her closest friends and family members, and ask guests to bring a pre-pregnancy photo of themselves with the lady of the hour. Buy a simple, tasteful scrapbook and some scrapbooking supplies (fun printed paper for backgrounds, ribbons, stickers, fancy letters, and don’t forget glue and scissors). Check out these step by step scrapbooking tips for more specifics on just what to buy and what to avoid.
During brunch or lunch at the baby shower, pass the book and a box of supplies around the room so that each guest can personalize her own page in the pre-baby scrapbook that focuses on the mother-to-be’s life with her friends and family members. Focus on making the day fun for everyone by keeping the mood light by telling stories about or playing songs that remind guests of the soon-to-be mother.
The best thing to remember is to celebrate “Mommy” before she’s “Mommy” and is running around buying food and diapers, feeding and changing the baby, and sleeping very, very (very!) little. In the meantime, have fun!
Enjoy Planning.
Penelope
