Five Tips for Planning a Great Tailgating Party

As football season approaches, tailgaiting season kicks in. Whether you're tailgating for a pro game, college game, concert, or some other event, here are some great tips on how to plan the perfect tailgate for you and your friends:

1. Make your tailgate a potluck. Create a potluck list to accompany your MyPunchbowl invitation and let guests easily sign up for items to bring. You might want to include some non-food items like chairs and utensils. Make sure to send a reminder to everyone a few days before the event so that no one forgets to bring what they signed up for!

2. Eco-friendly, disposable paper goods are a must. If you can't find eco-friendly, disposable paper goods, bring real plates and utensils in a separate bag then wash them when you get home. Also, don’t forget to bring plenty of trash bags to clean up after you tailgate.

3. Have a wide variety of beverages available in your cooler. Bottled water is a great option to have so people stay hydrated, especially if they're drinking. It's also great to have for the ride home!

4. Create an upbeat playlist to get you and your friends excited for the big game or concert. Bring a portable radio and speakers to use so that you don’t hurt your car battery.

5. After you tailgate, keep whatever leftover food you have stored in a cooler. Instead of sitting through traffic after your event is over, you and your friends can relax and enjoy your leftovers for part two of your tailgate!

Enjoy Planning.
