Family Reunion Picnic Planning Made Easy
Summer is a great time to bring together the whole family for a reunion. Coordinating all of the pieces might seem a bit overwhelming so here are some tips to get you started:
- Location: A great place to fit all of that extended family is a state park. State parks are great because there's open space for frisbee, crochet, and other outdoor games. They often have swimming and hiking/biking trails as well. A big plus: they're usually pet-friendly. Contact your local state parks to check on availability for a big group before finalizing a date.
- Date Selection: Picking the date for a family reunion is often the most difficult part because of family vacations during the summer months, so make sure you plan ahead. Send a Date Decider to have guests weigh in on the dates that work best for them.
- Food/Drinks: Get everyone involved in the planning with a potluck list. You can add everything you think you'll need to the potluck list (including things like cups and plates), and easily let everyone sign up for something when they respond to your online invitation. In addition to RSVPs, you'll have what they're bringing (in case you need to remind them before the event).
- When you send your event reminder, make sure you to tell everyone to bring plenty of blankets and chairs for people to sit on while they eat. Encourage them to bring fun outdoor games and their swimsuits and don't forget your camera!
Enjoy Planning.
