Anniversaries: Silver, Pearls, Rubies & Gold
When planning an anniversary party for a special couple in your life -- parents, friends, siblings, etc -- make it easy on yourself and look to the traditional anniversary gift list.
For example, we all know that the traditional gift for the first anniversary is paper, the gift for the second anniversary is cotton, and so on. Well, for the more common anniversaries that we see on MyPunchbowl, including 25th, 30th, 40th, and 50th, these are the traditional gifts:
- 25th Anniversary: Silver
- 30th Anniversary: Pearl
- 40th Anniversary: Ruby
- 50th Anniversary: Gold
A recent MyPunchbowl user incorporated the color ruby into a 40th anniversary party that she planned. You don't necessarily need to literaly serve the food at the 25th wedding anniversary on silver platters, but decorating the decor with silver balloons and creative centerpieces is a nice touch.
You can also work the theme into your online invitations. Design a beautiful invite with a gold ribbon. Tying the anniversary gift into the theme is also beneficial for guests who might not know. Now that they're aware, they might make a different gift selection or have ideas for you.
