My New Year’s Eve party planning suggestion for those of you out there in need of a fun, funny theme is to throw a New Year’s Resolution party. What is a New Year’s Resolution party, you ask? The way I envision this party theme being played out is to encourage your guests to come dressed as their favorite classic always-made, never-kept New Year’s Resolution.

These New Year's Resolution ideas can range anywhere from coming dressed as a rich dessert, a cigarette or a beer, or you could encourage your guests to get creative and try to think of the best way to come to your New Year’s Eve party representing a swear word, or a one night stand. The best part of this party is that it encourages guests to be honest and a little self-mocking, and to make light of our tendency to swear off the hardest things to stay away from.

What food to serve? Be devilish and serve rich food, heavy drink and encourage your guests to indulge for once (or twice, or thrice). Have fun planning this party and get started thinking of what New Year’s Broken Resolution you’ll go dressed as!
