So Many Halloween Costumes, So Little Time
For those of you out there who are feeling anxious about picking the perfect Halloween costume or who don't want to be stuck with just one option for the whole Halloween season, I have some excellent Halloween party advice. Pick a bunch of costumes! It's no fun having to go to every Halloween party in the same costume again and again, so why not narrow your Halloween costume list down to a few favorites? That way, you can be a new person at each party and you won't get sick of being a witch, a ghost or Britney Spears.
A few years ago, our neighborhood planned a rotating Halloween party that took place at a new house each night for a week. We had family-focused Halloween parties, adult Halloween cocktails and everything in between. Instead of showing up each night dressed in the same old costume, I went as a different witch each night. I did the classic witch, the sexy witch, the Wicked Witch of the West, Glenda the Good Witch...you get the picture. Here's a picture of me as the sexy witch...this one was for the cocktail party.
The important thing to remember is that Halloween parties are all about having fun. If you're bored by wearing the same costume night after night, change it up! You might come up with a theme, as I did, and dress in variations of the theme for each party you attend. Whatever you decide, remember to be creative with your Halloween costume--some of the best costumes I've seen in the past few years have come not from a store but from a clever combination of elements already in the closet or basement.
