Planning Early for Halloween Parties
Hi, Penelope!
I am new to MyPunchbowl.com and need some ideas. My Mom and I are planning our second annual Halloween party. I realize we have a few weeks to go, but Halloween party planning takes time. It will be a costume party and I need some great ideas on things to keep the kids busy, because last year’s party was lacking stuff for kids. We had folks inside and outside. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Dear Lana,
First, let me say welcome to MyPunchbowl. Second, let me commend you for beginning your Halloween party planning so far ahead of time! It’s definitely true that Halloween is one of those holidays that'll sneak up on you quickly. Before you know it, everyone has sent out their Halloween party invitations, and you haven’t even picked a theme for your own Halloween party yet.
My Halloween party suggestion to keep your young guests entertained is to set up a fun game that will engage their interest and their taste buds. In a post written earlier this summer, I suggested that one of my readers throw a Halloween in August party complete with a Halloween Hunt, and I'm prescribing the same to you. Hide candy all around your party space, both in and out of doors, give each kid a classic plastic pumpkin head to fill with the hidden candy and watch them hunt. Even the most hyper, hard to please children will become newly determined scavengers, scouring your party premises for treats. Good luck with your Halloween party preparations!
Enjoy Planning.
