Why Throw a Halloween Party?
Recently, people have been asking me why they should bother to throw a Halloween party this year. It's so much work, they say, and everyone's already throwing one anyway. Well I'm here to challenge you, dear readers, to take the initiative and throw your own Halloween party for a change. Sure, lots of people are already planning their Halloween parties, and sure, it requires some effort. But I've got the ultimate response to anyone wondering why he or she should throw a Halloween party: because it's fun!
Halloween parties are the one time during the year when people are given the chance to step outside themselves and be someone else. It may just be a dress-up day for some, but for others this haunted holiday is a true chance to escape the monotony of everyday and have some fun. Maybe you've always wanted to quit your job and be a hippie. Maybe you're a football player who's always wanted to be a ballet dancer. Halloween is your chance! Sure, it's brief, and sure, you may have to go back to the office or the football field afterwards, but why not escape for a night and enjoy a different life? Better yet, why not throw a party that allows your friends and family to join you in the escape?
I've always wanted to try life as a blonde, curly-haired Southern belle. Perhaps this is the Halloween to switch from Penelope to Ellie Mae. I'm sure Charlie wouldn't mind!
