Easy & Creative Candy Costumes for Halloween
If you feel like you're struggling to come up with homemade Halloween costumes for your kids, have no fear! A couple of years ago I wrote about candy costumes (gum, candy corn, etc), but there are so many great costumes to be had from candy that I wanted to share a few more ideas.
Get the kids involved by choosing their favorite candy bar. Then let them actually help make their own costume. These ideas are pretty easy and very cool...
M&Ms or Snickers - Cut a hole at the bottom of a brown trash bag (this is the hole for the head). Then use colored poster-board to stencile the letters then cut them out (this is where the kids can help). Then glue them on to the front of the bag facing the right direction. Liven up the costume with a pair of colored tights or sweatpants and you're good to go.
Three Musketeer or Peppermint Patty - Follow the same instructions as above, but this time you'll need to glue aluminum foil to the bag first to get the silvery packaging.
Of course you'll need to buy some candy bars as "research" for the costumes, but these are fun and easy costumes to make so it's worth it.
Enjoy Planning.
