Tips for a Green Christmas
We've all heard of a white Christmas, but how about a green Christmas? Since you've found MyPunchbowl, you're probably already smart enough to have sent your online Christmas party invitations, an action that saves trees.
Now what else can you do to have an eco-friendly Christmas? Let's start with your Christmas tree. First, decorate with LED lights to save energy. Then, once the holiday is over consider composting or mulching your tree rather than leaving it out with the trash.
As for other decorations, stick with items found in nature. I always tell people to decorate with plants and flowers but at this time of year you can also use pine cones, cinnamon sticks, and berries.
Avoid paper wrapping paper for gifts. Try to recycle gift bags you already have or use fabric. A friend recently tied up a gift for me in a scarf so not only did I get a beautiful bracelet, but I also have a new scarf!
Check out these additional ways to go green this Christmas. Make one or two changes this year and see how easy it is to have a green Christmas.
Enjoy Planning.
