Brighten Up Your Holidays with Eco-friendly Christmas Lights
Who doesn't love Christmas lights? They come in all different styles, sizes, and colors. My personal favorites are the small colored ones that twinkle on the tree. As a kid I always looked forward to the Saturday before Christmas when my family drove around looking at all of the Christmas lights in our town.
Today, I still look forward to looking at the lights, but the set-up is another story. If it were up to me the lights would be put away in an orderly way. However, every year my husband insists on doing the set-up and take-down of the lights. And every year I help him untangle the mess that is the Christmas lights. There have even been some years when we've had to buy a new set of lights because they've been too tangled to use!
Now that our Christmas party invitations have been sent, we are planning to get out the ball of lights and get the house ready for the party. Last year we made the switch to energy-efficient LED lights which are better for the environment so I'm really looking forward to getting everything ready knowing we've made an eco-friendly choice.
However, if you run into the same problem I've had where you can't get your lights detangled or if you make the switch to LED lights, you can now recycle your old Christmas lights. How's that for eco-friendly holidays!
