Car Racing Birthday Party

Even before the popularity of NASCAR, kids were fascinated with cars and speed. Just look at amusement parks--usually their favorite rides are the speedway or the old-fashioned cars they can drive themselves.

If your child is interested in cars, and in particular race cars, we have some ideas for you on how to incorporate race cars into a terrific birthday theme.

Of course you'll need to start with your email invitations. I like this one below, but you can always incorporate a picture of your child's favorite race car or driver into the invite.

One activity for the party (that will keep the kids occupied for a while) is to have them create their own cars out of cardboard boxes. Provide them with tools for decorating their "cars" (markers, paper, glue). Then turn your yard into a speedway and let the kids run around in their cars. You can organize some relays with small prizes.

Once the kids are totally worn out from running around your speedway, bring them inside for some cake. This race track cake is amazing and will definitely impress the birthday boy/girl and their friends.
