A Very Mary Poppins Birthday Party
As I was watching Mary Poppins this afternoon with my daughter, it dawned on me that this would make an adorable birthday party!

Here are some of the ideas that popped into my head:
- As the host, dress up like Mary Poppins to greet little guests. If hubby is a champ, dress him up like Bert in the chimney sweep costume.
As the centerpiece of the party, use a big carpet bag to pull out games, prizes and other fun surprises. You might not be able to pull out a hat rack, but a rolled up felt game of “pin the tail on the carousel horse” is just as fun!
Load up on sidewalk chalk and let the kids decorate their own works of pastel art.
Serve candy apples, caramel corn and cotton candy to stage your own afternoon affair.
Be sure to play the wonderful music from the movie. I’m still singing “Jolly Holiday with Mary” in my head!
Colorful parasols make lovely birthday party favors. Tie a little note on each that says, “Thanks for making this a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious birthday!”
So spit spot, and get to work with your Mary Poppins birthday party planning. You can get started with wonderful online birthday party invitations.
Enjoy Planning.
