Dust Off Your Cowboy Boots for a Halloween Party Hoedown!
Hello to my fellow goblins and ghouls! Halloween is exactly two weeks away and my question for you is: are you ready? If you haven't yet begun your Halloween party planning, now is the time to start. My party planning suggestion for the Halloween party stragglers: a Halloween Hoedown! MyPunchbowl has a great Hoedown party invitation that would be perfect for a Southern Fried Halloween party...all you need to do to get the ball rolling is add your own party information. Check it out, y'all.
How perfect is that? Now the great thing about a Halloween Hoedown is that it implies a Country Western theme that'll help guests plan their Halloween costumes and that'll help Halloween hosts keep the decorations and party food party-specific. In terms of party food and drink, I suggest some good ole southern barbecue and the whiskey and bourbon route. If you have the time to drive to a state where it's legal, you might even purchase some Everclear to get the party started (just yankin' y'alls chain).
Decorations wise, bales of hay are great to play up the Barn Dance feel or to provide extra seating, and some brightly colored bandannas will work perfectly as table accents. Since Halloween isn't far off now, hiring a live band might prove difficult. Instead, break out your favorite country record and ask guests to bring theirs. You'll be surprised by who has a secret collection of Garth Brooks on their computer or in their CD collection. If you have the time, you might consider hiring a local dance teacher to give line dancing lessons to your Halloween Hoedown guests--it'll be a hoot!
So I say again to you, my favorite readers, get planning! Halloween is fast approaching and time is running out. Planning a Halloween party is a great way to get into the spirit of this fun holiday, and a Halloween Hoedown certainly is as well. Lord willin' and the creek don't rise, you'll dance, eat and laugh the night away with family and friends!
Enjoy Planning.
