Bye Bye, Barbie: Planning One Last Barbie Party

I've got a great kids' party idea for all of the parents out there whose girls have started to grow past The Barbie Years. I call it the Bye Bye, Barbie party.

The party works like this: girls get together at a friend's house and bring all of their old Barbies for one last hurrah as young girls together before they hit The Cell Phone and Lip Gloss Years (if they haven't already). The girls dress their Barbies in their favorite outfits and do their hair so that the dolls are in fine form, and then after the party the Barbies are donated to a local hospital or shelter. It's a great way for your girls to feel like they're growing up (my sole objective when I was little) and gives them a chance to reminisce a little while having one last really fun party date with their Barbies before donating them to an excellent cause. This party idea could work well for an original birthday theme or for a simple, fun get together after school or on a weekend. We've even got a perfect party invitation template for it. Getting kids in the spirit of giving to those in need early is a great way to set our children up for a lifetime of doing good for others and enjoying it.

For party food: have them whip out the Easy Bake Oven one last time and cook up some mini desserts!

Enjoy Planning.
