Birthday Party Etiquette

Hi Penelope,
I will be throwing my own 30th birthday party at a restaurant. Etiquette-wise, is it proper for me to buy a round of appetizers and a pitcher of drinks and have the guests buy their own meals and additional drinks? My guests are old and new coworkers I've made friends with. Also, if I plan to invite my managers, should I invite their wives? Thanks!

Where, Oh Where to Throw a 3rd Birthday Party

Hi Penelope,
My son will be 3 this December, and we’ll be having a Thomas the Tank Engine theme. I’m looking for a great place to have a party for him and I want it to be cool & fun for kids of all ages. We live in Revere, Mass (so not too far from you) and have considered the Children’s Museum, bowling or ceramic crafts places. Any ideas? I would totally appreciate your help.
Thanks!

Making ‘Four Eyes’ Fun for Everyone

Dear Penelope,
My daughter's 8th birthday is coming up, and she just got glasses. She hates them and is really embarrassed to have to wear them to her party. I wondered if you had any ideas for how to get her excited and make her birthday fun instead of embarrassing for her.
