Today's Reason to Celebrate

November 26, 2010 is

Black Friday

It's that time again--the kickoff to the holiday shopping season! The name Black Friday originates from retailer's shift of being "in the red," or losing money, to being "in the black," or making profit.

On this day, always the day after Thanksgiving, many retailers typically open their stores early to accommodate all of the people that camp out the night before in the parking lot to take advantage of the holiday sales.

How successful is Black Friday? In 2006 the average shopper spent $790 on Black Friday. Happy shopping!
